TILT & ROTATE COUPLERS CAN MAKE YOU A LOT OF MONEY
Increasing productivity is always the main criteria when purchasing equipment or attachments. Tilt & Rotate coupler has been popular for decades with great success in Europe & North America, just for that reason.
Allowing an excavator operator to tilt and twirl any attachment 360 degrees, the tiltrotator delivers versatility in a wide range of applications, including excavation, compaction, asphalt cutting, drain cleaning and pick- and-place work. Imagine digging around pipes or cleaning drains with equipment parked parallel to the road, grappling oddly angled concrete from a pile, cutting hard-to-reach bushes or placing various sizes of logs in the truck. You can do just anything!

Tilt-rotator is a hydraulic coupler mounted on an excavator and it allows the bucket or any attachment to be rotated 360 degrees and tilt 5 degrees to each side. A reason for increase in productivity is easy manoeuvrability into tighter areas and working precisely or for creating slopes any where from one to 45 percent. Earlier, one had to hand shovel material into or out of comers and tricky-to-reach areas that a standard bucket wont reach. It isn’t always possible to move the machine due to site conditions, trees, buildings and the like. Tilt-roator allows operator to use bucket to cut any combination of grades, profiles or contours with less wear and tear on the undercarriage and swing gear. Operator can manipulate materials and attachments from any angle due to finesse and dexterity of the Tilt-rotator, and yes, that’s a game changer.
In the hands of a skilled operator, a tiltrotator can turn a standard attachment into a powerfully flexible tool. “A tiltrotator-equipped excavator offers enhanced value for customers, especially those working in tight, challenging jobsites that require precision and versatility. Tiltrotator, can dramatically reduce the time required to complete tasks such as digging, contouring and backfilling etc, increasing jobsite production.
Some of the attachments paired with tiltrotators are buckets, grapples, rotary cutters, grass & bush cutters, vibe rollers & plate compactors. For most contractors, buckets are popular choices, as well as hydraulic grapples, which are great for landscaping and grabbing sections of pipes.
Tiltrotators make a machine very, very versatile providing infinite ability with an attachment that gets an additional rotating or articulating capabilities making it more efficient. They increase productivity, they decrease the demand for manual labor on the jobsite, they increase safety, they’re versatile and they can be used in so many different applications.
Tiltrotator is connected directly to the excavator’s arm. The tiltrotator is then connected to the excavator’s hydraulics and electrical system. Depending on the excavator’s extra hydraulics, control is adapted to suit different types of control systems. Most common connection takes place via a single or double-acting extra outlet on the arm, and the tiltrotator is controlled by a proportional control system known as DC2. The actual control unit is located in the cab, and the tiltrotator’s functions are controlled using joysticks that allow the operator control of the tilt, rotation and grip functions. Signals from the joystick and the control unit are received by solenoid valves on the tiltrotator, thus controlling the function selected.
